Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Down Boy

I’ve been meaning to put this one up for awhile. I listened to it repeatedly and used it as my test song while building p/w/p. I have to stop kidding myself that I’m exposing people to these songs…surely most people have heard this and like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs by now.

The Isis EP is so wonderful. I had a hard time choosing just one of their songs…while I would put “Kiss Kiss” right up there with this one, “Down Boy” is my preference usually, plus this was easier to find a link for.

I love Karen O. How can you not? She’s so cool, she’s totally comfortable in her own skin (or at least makes a good showing of it), and she’s just hard not to stare at. I fell in love with “Maps” way back in the day, and ever since I’ve just been repeatedly impressed. I’d have to say my favorite part of this song (I have weird little things I always pick out of songs that probably very few other people hinge their anticipation on) is most definitely at the 2:20ish minute mark where she just lets out this nonchalant “hey!” while it sounds like she’s rocking out and moving away from the mic. Perfect.
