The Shins - Australia

Yay! This is one of my favorite feel-good songs. I actually just got my parents into it of all people, and we played it as they drove me back to the airport and we hugged goodbye this past weekend. It’s almost like a goodbye song in a lot of ways…a renewal…it’s got that bittersweet vibe. I call it a happy song, but really the lyrics are a little sad if you truly listen. Your nightmares really do only need a year or two to unfold. Believe me.

At any rate…I was totally born to gaze into night skies, and sing along at the top of my lungs (within reason, hey–I live in an apartment) to this song…I love the Shins! One of my favorite singing voices ever. Thanks, Zach Braff.
