SONG OF THE DAY - Au Revoir Simone

Au Revoir Simone - A Violent Yet Flammable World
Finally, I get to share one of my most favorite songs ever! It’s the kind that gives me goosebumps and shivers as it builds wonderfully, layer upon layer, amid tons of subtle layers of synths and dissonant notes and stacked vocals in some sort of digital audio fairytale. This is probably the kind of music I would want to make if I could play a keyboard. I would totally rock the mod dress and Roland up there. Maybe I should do a note on Ladytron sometime if I really want to push the female-laden synth stuff. They’re pretty hardcore.
This one isn’t necessarily going to rock your socks (unless you’re me), but it’s definitely something special to turn up and close your eyes while you float away. I love that it’s a group made up of these three cool, sweet, kind of plain-ish indie girls that could totally be me as well. Here’s to someday!
Also of note here is yet another new outlet with which I can share tracks (formerly used here, but now replaced by my little flash player). It’s called SeeqPod and seems to have quite an amazing selection of full-length, good-quality tracks to stream (obviously nothing is as good as the crisp version in my iTunes). I found it through del.icio.us when I clicked on its more pared down sister version called Songerize. Finding these kinds of things makes me very happy! I feel like it’s only right to be able to share things that make you feel good.
