Sashimi and Ice
February 12th, 2008
I feel a little guilty posting these random notes that are neither educational nor tutorial-related. But there are so many little things I want to throw in here just to see what stuck when I look back months down the road! This is like a new little journal for me, and after all…it is all mine :) You just happen to be reading it.
Well, just wanted to share some more phone pics and music to paint a picture of my frigid little DC evening on this Super Tuesday here on the east coast. Obama or Clinton? Clinton or Obama? Who’s really to say these days…I’m certainly not going to, but I did enjoy sliding around on the ice-covered sidewalks (except for that time when I fell over on some metal and got my khakis all wet and dirty in front of a homeless guy) with my fellow designer friend in search of some hot sake and sushi after work. Ah, bonding.
I ended up trying sashimi for the first time tonight (like really trying it in terms of a whole giant plate full!) and enjoyed it, despite all the scary looking meat chunks! I usually stick to my sacred spicy crunchy tuna roll at Thai Chef in Dupont Circle, but today’s accidental deviation made me feel grownup and proud. And the sake made me feel quite warm, in more ways than one.
Then it was time to part, me in my cabbins home to SW listening to my new favorite song by St. Vincent and watching the lazy globs of liquid DC light slide down the windows. I totally think it was a good day.
