Muxtape is Cool

Muxtape

This was going to start as a post all about how I discovered lovely new Eisley songs which I adore from the “Like the Actors” and “Final Noise” EPs, several of which I wanted to share. In fact, “Sun Feet” and “Like the Actors” may be my favorite Eisley songs ever now, and they are in constant rotation on my iPod. “Soft sweet music makes me sleep / calling my mind away (oh oh ohhh) Resting faces / calm and quiet.”

But now this is a post about how Muxtape is a pretty awesome little web app for making online “mixed tapes”. I don’t think it’s totally new, and while I have seen several friends using it here and there I never really looked into it until tonight. I was the queen of making mixed tapes back in school in the 90s…I really enjoyed compiling music from the radio and albums and other tapes for use in my walkman on long trips. I mean, I was thoroughly elated and fulfilled by these experiences. I’m not sure what felt so fulfilling, but so be it!

At any rate, I now have a Muxtape profile, and while I understand the use of it is for constant rotation to share with your friends (which obviously prevents the prolonged use of it as a definitive link for certain songs), I am testing my new favorite Eisley tracks with it as a starter! Watch it grow and change! I really wanted to add some of the tracks from the new M83 album as well as it is really awesome (think modern electronic/shoegazing meets 80s/Jesus and Mary Chain) and all that we have been listening to around here, but technical difficulties proved too much for me to bother with. I think I’m going to start sticking to Amazon for all my future mp3 purchases, even though iTunes is prettier.
